A long-term successful real estate investor and Sacramento resident, Belton Mouras, Jr. was exposed to what would later become his artistic endeavors at a young age of three, through his mother, a homemaker with a flair and passion for playing the piano.
From the age of five until his late teenage years, Belton studied classical music. In his twenties, his interests progressed to jazz. As many creative types learn about themselves, he was not to be stifled in his ever evolving music expansion, so he began experimenting with music, creating his own sounds and music productions by the time he was twenty. That developmental stage merged into electronic, new age and experimental music in the 1970’s -being part of one of the first small groups of students to complete the University of California Davis campuses inaugural Electronic Music Class in 1974. He went on to compose several songs and completing his first cd with his original acoustical piano compositions in the late 1990’s. It should also be noted that he provided the music score for several video productions including providing the music score for a short movie featured in The Place Called Sacramento Film Festival in 2012.
For it was within his creative surroundings, that Belton discovered another form of art later in life. He realized his passion for visual expression in a drawing course that he attended from a local friend and artist. He studied under his artist friend, as well as, other various art instructors to learn the finer nuisances of painting, perfecting it until his raw talent exploded, creating hundreds of distinctive art compositions.
Outside of his real estate investment background, the ‘artist’ is heavily inspired by his travels. In addition, his musical background often evokes itself and manifests in his paintings. He sports a very modern and contemporary flair, and some of his more sought after compositions combine musical themes with nature and landscapes scenarios.
In fact, his love of animals has encouraged many of his latest canvases, and he often paints descriptions of animals found in interesting and unusual habitats and enjoys drawing various animals in cute poses. A multi-media artist with a self-proclaimed obsession with the canvas, Belton draws on the raw energy of his recent inspiration when crafting his eclectic array of acrylic. Mixing acrylics and paint on canvas, the artist creates transcendent symmetry that feature the analogy of color, method, and texture.
The artist enjoys creating imaginative works of his own and giving back to his community. He has hosted several yearly art events at his home and donates the funds to his favorite animal charity organizations. He has realized sales through several art shows, which have sold many of Belton’s art pieces, in addition to word of mouth and referral.
The artist currently resides in California with his wife and three rescue dogs.
